Solar power data transmission: when there is a communication interruption in the solar power system, it will disrupt the monitoring of the system's performance and operating status. Here's how to fix it:
What is a communication interruption?
Collecting data from all components in a solar system is crucial for basic to advanced data monitoring platforms. Once there is an interruption in data collection or transmission in a solar system, we call it a communication interruption. As we have learned, the breakpoint usually occurs when the network connection is unstable or there is physical damage to the communication cable and the basic communication link between the inverter and the monitoring platform.
Once communication interruption occurs frequently, it will lead to data loss. Data loss will cause incomplete information collection and even cause errors in system performance statistics and diagnostics. Moreover, data loss will make it difficult to maintain and operate the system or may cause maintenance personnel to make incorrect judgments and decisions about the current situation and information of the system, which inevitably leads to financial loss during communication disruptions.
How does data transmission work when communication interruption occurs?
To prevent the effects of communication interruptions in the solar system, temporary data storage is a possible solution. For single systems with only one inverter, it both generates power and stores data. The data will be stored in the memory of the inverter during the time of loss of connection. Forinverter Goodwe, the memory has enough space to store data for at least 14 days. Once the connection is resumed within 2 weeks, the data will be restored and accessible on SEMS PORTAL.
For systems with multiple inverters, EzLogger Pro is used to collect and transmit data from the inverter to the data center. If EzLogger Pro loses connection to the internet, the data of all inverters will be stored in the EzLogger Pro suite. 1 set of EzLogger Pro can communicate with up to 60 inverters; data is stored in EzLogger Pro for 7 days. Once the network connection is restored the data will be automatically uploaded to SEMS PORTAL and users can access it.
Data loss on SEMS PORTAL when there is a communication interruption will be restored when the networked system resumes and the yield output and earnings report will be automatically updated on SEMS PORTAL.
In short, data transmission when communication interruption occurs ensures system data safety and solar system reliability.
